A salon sign does two jobs. It tells people on the street who you are, and it gives every client a reason to take a photo in your chair. Neon does both, and LED neon does it in pink, white, warm white or any color you work in.
We have made signs for hair salons, barbershops, lash and brow studios, nail bars and spas since 2014. Below is what works, what it costs, and how to order one.
What salons and barbershops order from us
Logo signs. Your logo in neon on a clear backing, usually 20 to 36 inches wide. It goes behind reception or on the feature wall clients see from the chair.
Selfie-wall phrases. "Good hair day", "Lashes by Nadia", "You look good", "Fresh cuts". The sign your clients post is the one that brings in the next client, so put it where the light and the mirror are.
Station and service signs. "Lashes", "Brows", "Nails", "Color bar", "Wash" in neon above each station. Small, cheap and they tie the room together.
Window signs. Your name or "Walk-ins welcome" facing the street, dimmable for daytime, bright at night.
Barbershop classics. A straight razor, scissors, a pole, a skull. Line art translates well to tube, and white or red on a dark wall reads from across the shop.
Salon and barbershop signs we have made
Real signs in real businesses, sent in by the owners.

What a salon sign costs
Salon and barbershop signs are smaller than bar signs. Most of the ones we quote are 16 to 30 inches wide and land between $300 and $650.
| Width | Typical price |
|---|---|
| Under 24 inches | $285 to $650 |
| 24 to 35 inches | $355 to $545 |
| 36 to 47 inches | $520 to $960 |
Prices are from the quotes we sent in the last three months and include express shipping, a remote dimmer, the power supply and mounting hardware. Small signs have a floor: a detailed logo cannot always be made under 20 inches and still read. See the full price guide.
Why LED neon for a salon
- Flattering light. Pink, warm white and soft white LED neon give a glow that photographs well. The dimmer lets you set it for the room.
- Cool to the touch. It runs on 12 volts and stays cool, so it is safe behind a chair, next to product shelves or where clients lean in for a photo.
- No glass. It ships in a box and survives the move if you change suites.
- Any color, any font. We match your brand color to the closest tube and show it in the proof before anything is made. Color-changing RGB is available if you want to switch it up.
- Clean install. Clear acrylic backing with pre-drilled holes, standoffs if you want it floating off the wall, and a hard-wired power supply if your electrician wants no cord.
How it works
- Send your logo or idea. Upload a file or describe it. No file needed to start.
- Get a priced proof within one business day. We draw the sign, size it for your wall and send the price.
- Approve and pay. Revisions are free until it is right.
- It arrives in 10 to 12 days. Hang it with the included hardware. Done.
Tips from 12 years of salon signs
- Put it where the photo happens. Behind the chair, in the mirror's reflection, or on the wall by the door. Plain wall behind it, lights in front of it.
- Keep script legible. Thin cursive looks great in a logo file and disappears in tube. We thicken strokes and open up letter spacing in the proof.
- Go a size up. A 16-inch sign on a 10-foot wall gets lost. Tell us the wall width and we will suggest a size.
- Use the dimmer. Full brightness washes out in photos. Most salons run around 50 to 60 percent.
- One color reads best. Two colors work for a logo plus tagline. More than that competes with your products and your clients' faces.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a neon sign for a salon cost?
Most salon and barbershop signs cost between $300 and $650. A short phrase at 24 inches is around $400; a logo at 36 inches is around $600. Every quote is free and includes a design proof.
Can you make my salon logo in neon?
Yes. Send the logo file and we send back a proof showing how it translates to tube, with the price. Fine detail is simplified so it reads at size, and you approve the proof before anything is made.
What colors are available?
23 LED colors, including pink, hot pink, warm white, white, red and purple, plus RGB color-changing. We match your brand color to the closest tube.
Is a neon sign safe near hair products and heat tools?
LED neon runs on 12 volts, stays cool and has no glass. It is safe to touch and safe near product shelves and styling stations.
Can the sign go in the window?
Yes. LED neon is bright enough to read from the street and the dimmer lets you turn it down during the day. For a sign on the outside of the building, order the outdoor build.
How long does it take?
About 10 to 12 days from payment to your door, with express shipping included. Rush production is available if you have an opening date.
