An office sign has a short list of jobs. It puts your name on the wall people see when they walk in, it gives the video calls and the team photos a background that says where you are, and it makes a new office feel finished. LED neon does all three on the day it arrives, with a plug and the screws in the box.
We have made signs for reception walls, lobbies, boardrooms, open-plan floors and a lot of home offices since 2014. Below is what offices order, what it costs, and the alternative to consider for a reception wall.
What offices order from us
The logo behind reception. The most common office sign by far. Your wordmark or full logo in neon on a clear backing, usually 24 to 48 inches wide, centered on the wall behind the desk. It reads in person and on every photo taken in the lobby. See the logo signs page for how a logo is redrawn for tube.
The feature wall. A company value, a tagline or an inside joke in neon on the wall of the kitchen, the lounge or the open floor. "Make it happen", "Do good work", "Be kind, work hard". This is the sign in the recruiting photos.
Boardroom and meeting room signs. The logo or the room's name, smaller, 18 to 30 inches, on the wall that faces the camera. Offices with named rooms often order a set.
Home office signs. A name, a logo or a phrase for the wall behind the desk, sized for the camera frame, usually 18 to 30 inches. Many of the home office signs we make are gifts for a partner starting a business.
Window signs. Street-level offices put the name in the window facing the sidewalk, dimmable for daytime and bright at night.
What an office sign costs
Office signs are priced by width and by how much tube the design needs. Most of the office signs we quote are 24 to 48 inches wide and land between $400 and $1,000. A wordmark sits at the bottom of each band; a logo with a mark or an illustration sits at the top.
| Width | Typical price |
|---|---|
| Under 24 inches | $285 to $650 |
| 24 to 35 inches | $355 to $545 |
| 36 to 47 inches | $520 to $960 |
| 48 to 59 inches | $700 to $1,345 |
| 60 inches and wider | $980 to $1,590 |
Prices are from the quotes we sent in the last three months and include express shipping, a remote dimmer, the power supply and mounting hardware. Two or more signs for one office, such as the lobby logo plus a set of room signs, qualify for a multi-sign discount. If you have a lower written quote for the same sign, send it to us and we will beat it. See the full price guide.
Neon or backlit acrylic for the reception wall?
Both are good reception signs, and we make both. The difference is the look by day.
- LED neon is a glowing line. It is the choice when you want the sign to be seen lit, when the logo is a wordmark or line art, and when you want it in 10 to 12 days at the prices above. It plugs in, and it can be dimmed for the room or for video calls.
- Backlit acrylic is a solid dimensional logo with light behind it. By day it reads as a clean, unlit logo; at night it floats in a halo. It suits a corporate lobby where the sign is on all day under office lighting, and a logo with solid fills that neon would have to outline. Quoted per project.
- Full-color logos can be done either way: neon tube outlining a UV-printed backing with the artwork on it, or front-lit acrylic with the print on the face.
Send the logo and a photo of the wall and the proof will show the build we recommend. If both would work, we say so and price both.
Sizing a sign for an office wall
The rule of thumb is that the sign should be about a quarter of the width of the wall it hangs on, and the smallest letters in it should be at least 2 inches tall. Half of the office signs we quote are 24 to 48 inches wide.
- Reception wall, 10 to 14 feet wide: 30 to 42 inches, the wordmark or the full logo.
- Lobby feature wall or open floor: 48 to 72 inches, often a phrase. For bigger walls see large neon signs.
- Meeting rooms and home offices: 18 to 30 inches, sized to sit inside the camera frame behind you.
- Window: 30 to 48 inches, read from the sidewalk.
Tell us the wall width and where the sign goes, and the proof comes back with a size that fits. There is a size guide if you want to work it out first.
Why LED neon in an office
- Brand colors, matched. We match each color in your logo to the closest of 23 LED colors and show it in the proof. Two and three-color logos are common, and color count does not change the price.
- Runs cool, no glass. 12 volts, cool to the touch, nothing to break. It can hang behind a desk where people lean in, and it ships in a box, so it survives an office move.
- Dimmable. The included remote dimmer sets it for the room. Most offices run it well below full brightness during the day, which also keeps it from blowing out on camera.
- Clean install. Clear acrylic backing cut to the logo, with pre-drilled holes and hardware. Standoffs float it an inch off the wall; a ceiling hanging kit suspends it in front of a glass or slat wall. If facilities wants no visible cord, order a hard-wired power supply and your electrician wires it to a switch.
- Built to run all day. The LED tube is rated for 50,000 hours, about 11 years at 12 hours a day. Every sign carries a 2-year warranty, extendable to 4, and uses UL-certified electrical components.
Offices with more than one location
Once your logo is drawn for tube, the next sign matches the first. We have produced sign programs for American Eagle, Delta, Bacardi and Charleys Cheesesteaks, and we make the same lobby sign again for the next office. For 10 signs or more, use the business page and we quote the program as a whole.
How it works
- Send your logo or the phrase. A vector file (AI, EPS, SVG, PDF) is best; a PNG, JPG or a photo works. Add a photo of the wall if you have one.
- Get a priced design proof within one business day. The proof shows the sign as tube, the size on your wall, the colors and the backing, with the price.
- Approve and pay. Revisions are free until it is right. If purchasing needs a formal quote or an invoice first, ask and we send one.
- It arrives in 10 to 12 days. Express shipping is included. Hang it with the included hardware, or hand the mounting drawing to your facilities team.
Tips from 12 years of office signs
- Light the wall, not the sign. A neon sign on a plain, matte wall with the room lights in front of it looks best. Avoid hanging it directly across from a window; daytime glare flattens the glow.
- Check the camera frame. For a video-call wall, sit in the chair, open the camera and tape out where the sign should land before you pick the size. Usually it is smaller and higher than you think.
- One color for the wordmark. White, warm white or your main brand color. Save the second color for the mark.
- Order the room signs with the lobby sign. Same color, same font, one shipment, one discount.
- Ask for the mounting drawing. The proof shows the hole positions, which is what your building's facilities team or installer will ask for.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a neon sign for an office cost?
Most office signs cost between $400 and $1,000. A 30-inch wordmark behind reception is around $450; a 42-inch full logo is around $800; a 5-foot feature-wall phrase is around $1,100. Every quote is free and includes a design proof.
Can you make our company logo in neon?
Yes. Send the logo file and we send back a proof showing how it translates to tube, with the price. Solid shapes become outlines, fine detail is simplified so it reads at size, and full-color artwork can be UV-printed on the backing with the neon on top. You approve the proof before anything is made.
Is neon or backlit acrylic better for a reception wall?
Neon when you want the glowing-line look and a 10 to 12 day turnaround; backlit acrylic when the sign is on all day under office lighting and the logo has solid fills. We make both and the proof will recommend one.
Can the sign be wired to a wall switch?
Yes. Order a hard-wired power supply instead of the plug-in one and your electrician connects it to a switch or a timer. The standard power supply plugs into any outlet.
Can we get an invoice or a formal quote for purchasing?
Yes. Every quote comes as a written design proof with the price, and we send an invoice on request before payment. Major credit cards and PayPal are accepted.
How long does it take?
About 10 to 12 days from payment to your door, with express shipping included. Rush production is available for $150 if you have an opening date.
Can we order the same sign for another office?
Yes. Reorders match the first sign exactly, and 10 or more signs are quoted as a program with a bulk price.
